Here are the updated 2025 Military Pay Table for Officers and Warrant Officers, featuring basic pay charts for officers in Army, Navy, US Marine Corps, and Air Force.

The 2025 Military Pay Chart: Basic Pay, Officer Salaries, and Retirement Benefits

There is expected to be 4.5% boost in compensation for service members across various branches, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Space Force. My article from last week reviewed the pay tables for active duty enlisted servicemembers. This week I will cover the basic pay tables for US military officers and warrant officers.

How Executive Schedule Caps Income for High Ranking Officers

The executive pay schedule places limits on the basic pay for high-ranking officers in the US military. For military members in pay grades O-6 and below, their basic pay is capped at the Level V Executive Schedule rate. Meanwhile, officers in grades O-7 through O-10 have their pay capped at the Level II Executive Schedule rate. These caps ensure that military compensation is aligned with the broader federal pay structure. The specific figures for these caps are released annually and reflect adjustments based on the Executive Schedule. When the 2025 civilian pay raise goes into effect, more will known about the cap for 2025 pay.

2025 US Military Pay Tables for Commissioned Officers

A commissioned officer in the U.S. military is an individual who has been granted a commission by the President of the United States or a secretary of a military department. This commission authorizes them to hold a leadership and command position. If they have at least five years of enlisted service or as a warrant officer, then they have their own special pay grades. The ranks are E1O to E3O, and the 2025 basic pay rate for each can be seen below:

How Retirement Pay is Calculated for Active Duty Service Members

Military employees of the Department of Defense who complete at least 20 years of service are eligible for retirement pay, which is calculated as a percentage of their base pay.
